The following course will cover Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) SOP.H&S.01.07

The purpose of SOP.H&S.01.07 is to train you with regards to:

  • Ensuring that blood spills are dealt with in a safe manner, to prevent cross contamination and to identify the source of spills in order to ensure that the safety of our products is not compromised.

Restrictions for this SOP:

  • Applies to all collection venues, vehicles transporting blood, blood products and during processing, storage and issue operations
  • Requirements of COSHH data sheets for each species and product must be complied with
  • May only be carried out by a trained member of staff

Please note that some of the associated documents referenced in the SOP may be included in the training but it is unlikely they will all be covered. It is expected that you reference any documents that are relevant to you as part of your training and before carrying out the task if you are unsure of anything.
