SOP.QUA.06.05 (DAT) Donor Adverse Reaction Procedure

The following course will cover Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) SOP.QUA.06.05

The purpose of SOP.QUA.06.05 is to train you with regards to:

• ensuring that donors who have an adverse reaction to the donation procedure receive treatment and preventative care is taken to reduce further issues
• ensuring that blood collected is safe for recipients
• ensuring donors are fit and well to donate in the future
• to report and monitor donor adverse reactions

Restrictions for the SOP:

• Decisions on the donor continuing on the donor programme can only be carried out by a qualified veterinary surgeon
• May only be carried out unsupervised by PBBUK staff who have been trained in this procedure
