SOP.SIS.02.10 Issue of Canine and New World Camelid Red Cell Products

The following course will cover Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) SOP.SIS.02.10

The purpose of SOP.SIS.02.10 is to train you with regards to:

• Selecting, packing and issuing canine stored whole blood and packed red blood cell products

Restrictions for this SOP:

• May only be carried out unsupervised by PBB UK staff who have been trained in this procedure
• Appropriate protective clothing must be worn when issuing red cell products. Gloves must be worn for handling products or hands must be washed and alcohol gel applied
• No food or drink may be stored or consumed within the designated issue area
