Speaker Biography: Monica Augusto

Monica qualified in 2001 from UTAD, Portugal. After a couple of years in a busy small animal practice, she completed a one-year rotating internship at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and later a Small Animal Internal Medicine residency at the University of Glasgow’s School of Veterinary Medicine.

Following a short period at the University of Liverpool in their Oncology service, Monica worked in a private referral hospital in Winchester for several years before moving back to academia as a Staff Clinician at the Royal Veterinary College, London.

Monica has been a Lecturer in Small Animal Medicine at University College Dublin, since September 2017.

She is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and, in addition, she is completing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Oncology at the University of Birmingham and a Professional Diploma in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education at UCD.
