SOP.PRO.08.04 Separation of New World Camelid Whole Blood into Packed Red Blood Cells and Frozen Plasma

The following course will cover Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) SOP.PRO.08.04

The purpose of SOP.PRO.08.04 is to train you with regards to:

  • Process whole blood donations into specific multiple products

Restrictions for this SOP:

  • May only be carried out unsupervised by PBBUK staff who have been trained in this procedure
  • All processing of donations must be carried out in the designated clean area
  • Personal protective equipment must be worn when processing donations
  • No food or drink may be stored or consumed within the designated clean area

SOP.TES.04.06 Quarantine, Release and Failing of Blood Products

The following course will cover Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) SOP.TES.04.06

The purpose of SOP.TES.04.06 is to explain the process used to prevent the sale and issue of blood products subject to various blood tests until results have been authorised.

Restrictions for this SOP:

  • May only be carried out unsupervised by PBB staff who have been trained in this procedure
  • Release or failure of units in quarantine may only be authorised by the Veterinary Supervisor or an authorised veterinary surgeon using INF/TES/14
  • No food or drink may be stored or consumed within the designated clean area.

SOP.QUA.06.05 (DAT) Donor Adverse Reaction Procedure

The following course will cover Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) SOP.QUA.06.05

The purpose of SOP.QUA.06.05 is to train you with regards to:

  • ensuring that donors who have an adverse reaction to the donation procedure receive treatment and preventative care is taken to reduce further issues
  • ensuring that blood collected is safe for recipients
  • ensuring donors are fit and well to donate in the future
  • to report and monitor donor adverse reactions

Restrictions for the SOP:

  • Decisions on the donor continuing on the donor programme can only be carried out by a qualified veterinary surgeon
  • May only be carried out unsupervised by PBBUK staff who have been trained in this procedure

MPD.EQU.01.05 Pet Blood Bank Equipment Procedure

The following course will cover Management Process Description (MPD) MPD.EQU.01.05

The purpose of MPD.EQU.01.05 is to provide you with training on how PBB classifies and identifies its equipment so that their servicing and maintenance requirements can be met to ensure the equipment is functioning correctly.

 

Restrictions for this MPD:

  • May only be carried out by staff trained to this procedure.
  • No equipment can be put to routine use until full validation and acceptance procedures have been completed.

MPD.QUA.02.09 Management Quality Review

The following course will cover Management Process Description (MPD) MPD.QUA.02.09

The purpose of MPD.QUA.02.09 is to train you with regards to how PBB ensures that a regular, documented formal review of all aspects of the Quality System is carried out.

  • Ensure that documents are produced in standard formats
  • Ensure that all GMP related documentation is controlled
  • Ensure that standardised and recorded training is maintained

Restrictions for this MPD:

  • Only staff trained to this process may produce documentation

 

SOP.TES.03.07 Dealing with Cross Match Requests (Lab & Dist)

The following course will cover Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) SOP.TES.03.07

The purpose of SOP.TES.3.07 is to train you with regards to:

  • To permit safe supply of compatible blood products to the patients being treated by customers

Restrictions for this SOP:

  • May only be carried out by unsupervised by PBBUK Staff who have been trained in this procedure
  • Blood aliquot selection must be carried out in a designated clean area
  • Gloves must be worn or clean hands with alcohol applied when handling blood products
  • Personal protective equipment must be worn when handling frozen items
  • No food or drink may be stored or consumed within the designated clean area

SOP.ADM.04.04 Canine Vaccination SOP

The following course will cover SOP.ADM.04.04

The purpose of SOP.ADM.04.04 is to train you with regards to:

  • To ensure PBB staff follow a managed process for the administration of vaccines to pre-agreed kennel dogs at PBB collections sessions
